nowadays, more and more university graduates complain that graduation does not equate to employment. they experience great difficulties finding satisfactory jobs. what is the cause of this phenomenon
in my opinion, there are four causes:
first, graduates lack experience. they spend most of their time at school studying academic subjects and lack relevant job training. only after graduation do they realize it’s hard to find jobs.

随着我国对外交流的日益频繁，优秀的英语能力已经成了除良好的专业素养之外，大学毕业生求职的又一必备条件。听说能力是英语能力的一个重要组成部分。然而，长久以来，我国大学英语教学模式偏重对学生读写能力的训练，而对学生听说能力的培养长期以来处于被漠视的状态，导致学生英语能力发展不均衡，听说能力成为普遍的薄弱环节[1]。这就要求充分重视大学英语的口语实训课程，改进教学模式，将英语演讲引入大学英语口语实训课程，提高学生的口语水平。
一、英语演讲在大学英语口语实训课中的作用
作为大学英语口语实训的手段之一，与组织学生进行情景对话或者分组讨论相比，英语演讲对学生口语能力的锻炼效果更好，能够显著提高学生独立思考及用英语进行交际的能力。
1.提高学生的语言技能。
在我国大学英语教学活动中，传统教学模式大多是灌输式的，学生是在被动接受知识，学习效果并不理想。然而英语演讲能够充分调动学生的主观能动性，挖掘学生自主学习的潜力，使学生在演讲的准备阶段及演讲过程中充分锻炼自己的综合语言技巧，尤其是口语和写作的能力。为了在演讲中有优秀的表现，学生必须对演讲稿进行反复的背诵，从而锻炼自己的口语能力；学生在创作演讲稿的过程中也充分锻炼自己用英语进行写作的能力[2]。由于中英思维方式的不同，导致在写作模式上具有一定的差异性，在用英语创作演讲稿时需要注意这一点。英语创作应当开门见山的提出文章观点，然后从理论和实践两个方面对观点进行阐述，最后在结尾时重申文章的主旨，或者提出一个有思考价值的问题。
2.提高学生辩证思维的能力。
一个人的演讲能够体现这个人的思维方式及其对客观事物的看法，是一个人人生观、价值观的体现。而演讲的整个过程，从拟题、选材、信息整合到组织语言的每一个阶段，都需要大脑进行分析、推理、判断、归纳的工作，从而锻炼学生的思维能力。在传统应试教育的氛围下，许多学生的思维显得不够活跃，知识面比较狭隘，导致对外界事物的辩证思维能力严重不足，缺乏透过现象看本质的能力。而通过英语演讲的拟题和选材过程拓宽了学生获取信息的途径，开阔了学生的视野，提高了学生对社会热点事件的关注度，通过英语演讲稿的写作又锻炼了学生的辩证思维能力，帮助学生从各个角度、多个方面看待问题、思考问题，从而透过现象看到问题的本质。
3.有助于学生自信心的树立。
许多学生在中学没有登台演讲的经历，尤其是用英语演讲的经历更是匮乏，这就导致学生在面对全体同学演讲时表现得非常紧张，说话和表情都显得不大自然，影响到自身水平的发挥。这都是缺乏自信心的表现，也是演讲过程中必须克服的一个阶段。通过英语演讲经验的积累，在提高学生英语综合能力的同时，也能帮助学生克服自卑、害羞的心理，从而塑造健康、自信的人格形象[3]。
二、英语演讲融入大学英语口语实训课程的模式
1.模仿演讲，掌握英语演讲的技巧。
在组织学生进行英语演讲之前，为了使学生对英语演讲有清晰的概念，给学生树立正面榜样，可以先组织学生一起观摩英语演讲的视频资料，通过视频资料使学生充分感受到英语演讲的震撼力。在视频资料的选择上，应该多选取一些优秀的英文散文和诗歌朗诵片段，或者历史上著名的演讲段落，让学生直面英语文化的魅力，从而激发他们自己进行演讲的兴趣[4]。
2.撰写演讲稿，做好演讲前的准备工作。

三、结语
针对我国英语教学中对学生口语能力的培养情况普遍不理想的现状，应当充分利用大学英语口语实训课的优势，将英语演讲这一教学方法引进口语实训课中，通过演讲促进学生的英语综合能力，特别是口语水平的提高。
